The Mistake: Elle Kennedy

As everyone may have read my first book review The Deal by Elle Kennedy. For my second book review I read her second book from The OFF CAMPUS series called The Mistake. What can I say about the second book The Mistake along with the first book The Deal I fell in love with this book. The author Elle Kennedy takes real life experiences, such as falling in love, or getting your heart broken. These romance books are not your average cliché romance genre of books.

The Mistake follows off from the book The Deal. The main characters from the first book, Garret Graham, Hannah Wells ( Wellsy) John Logan ( as everyone calls him Logan) Dean and Tucker who are all hockey players that play for their College Briar U. The Mistake also introduces some new characters, Grace Ivers, her best friend from grade school Ramona and a few others. Logan realizes he is crushing on his best friend, teammate, roommate’s girlfriend Hannah (Wellsy) Logan wishes that he was with Hannah, and not Garret. But really all this time he was just in love with the idea of having what is special between Garret and Hannah, and he is jealous.

In this book Logan stumbles upon this cute freshman Grace, Grace and her friends know Logan’s reputation around campus, with him being a jock, hockey player and knows him for being one of the hottest guy’s on campus. Grace never expected that a guy like John Logan to even be talking to her let alone, him ending up in her dorm room on several occasions, and Logan being her first. Each encounter with one another leads up to Grace getting her heart broken, her confessing she is still a virgin, Logan just walking away but soon realizes he made the biggest mistake of his life, realizes that he is not in love with his best friends girl, he just wants the same thing like they have. And when it is too late for Logan to come back crawling to Grace, Grace leaves earlier as planned for summer break to go and visit her mom in Paris.

During the summer months Logan goes back to the shithole he calls home, works for his dad’s family owned mechanic, auto shop. Throughout summer he tries everything to get a hold of Grace just to talk, have her forgive him, and for a second chance. While Grace is in Paris with her mom she gets a complete makeover to start the new semester as a sophomore at college. School starts back up, Grace is coming back more confident then before, brand-new attitude, looking completely different then she did last year as a freshman but she no matter what has to face certain people at some point of time or another.

Her and Logan have many run ins with each other. Logan begs Grace for another chance telling her that he will do anything and everything to win her back, he just wants a second chance, he wants that relationship with Grace that he has been craving since they first met. He does end up winning her back, Grace learns a lot about Logan’s family and his past. Logan is worried that his family problems will scare Grace away and he will end up alone with a broken heart.

Ok, what can I honestly say about this amazing book? I really enjoyed it. It was beyond detailed, and beyond my expectations, I thought it would not be as good as the first book The Deal I stepped into this book and I felt like I was in Grace’s shoes, just like the first book I felt like I was in Hannah’s shoes. That is why I think this author is amazing because she draws in these fans, and readers especially the ones who are the hopeless romantic type. It’s those kinds of books that are hard to put down because you want to know what is going to happen next by the time you realize it you are almost done reading the entire book, or the books are beyond great that you happen to read them more than a couple of times. Make sure you grab a copy of this book, and to look forward to my next review on Elle Kennedy’s book called The Score along with the OFF CAMPUS series.

As Always XOXOXOXO NicoleHeart
