Purple Hearts

Netflix brings us another great hit, the movie Purple Hearts starring Sophia Carson, who plays Cassie Salazar and Nicholas Galitzine who plays Luke. Cassie (Sophie Carson) a struggling singer-songwriter and Luke (Nicholas Galitzine) a troubled Marine they both agree to only marry each other solely for military benefits. After meeting one another at the bar that Cassie works and performs at. Luke and the other Marines arrive to celebrate their last few days of freedom until they are shipped off over seas to fight. Cassie runs into her long-time best friend that she has known for a very long time Frankie (Chosen Jacobs) also the night when Cassie finds out marrying into the military you get full health insurance benefits (Cassie already sick from being diabetic and not being able to afford the treatment that is needed)

       Luke and Cassie upon agreeing with one another if they marry each other, they will both receive the military benefits that they both want, Luke wanting to pay off an old debt that not many people know why, and of course Cassie needing her treatment. At the same time, they both despise one another, but they follow through and get married. Trying to keep it a secret of the real reasons why they got married, and to show basically the military they both married out of love.

       Cassie and Luke both start to get to know each other more, through out their marriage, Cassie’s health issues are addressed, she can than focus on her music, songwriting and her band. Later, tragedy strikes Luke and Cassie are forced to be around one another and to make this marriage work. Both teach each other in a way I cannot even describe.

       I absolutely love this movie, before I watched it on Netflix, I had seen the previews on Facebook and on Netflix, I thought another sappy love story. It is a sappy love story, but it is a love story that brings you close to the one you love, where you do not want to let them go. It is truly inspiring love story, that holds close to your heart. It is a great movie, and yet another great love story, movie that will make fans awe when they watch it.
