The In Between

Once again, the world brings us another, love, heartbreaking love story. The In Between, starring Joey King (Kissing Booth One, Two and Three) also starring Kyle Allen (Westside Story, The Map of Tiny Perfection Things) The In Between brings Tessa (Joey King) and Skylar (Kyle Allen) together by one simple day where they both end up at the movie theater. Watching a love movie that did not have subtitles and the movie was in French. Skylar takes it upon himself to take a seat next to Tessa and starts to basically speak every word of the movie to her but in English. (I mean come on where could you go wrong with that, a sexy cute guy speaking into your ear who knows how to speak French?) From that moment on Tessa and Skylar completely hit it off, sparks had instantly flew. They say their goodbyes to each other, and both wonder if they will see each other again.

Fate happens and Tessa does get to see Skylar again. (I mean a couple of months later) but she sees him again. I have always believed in fate, and true love. That is exactly what happens between Tessa and Skylar. That’s how they ended up together, but that isn’t the way the movie starts out. The movie sadly starts out with a car accident, Skylar dead and Tessa being close to being dead ends up in the hospital and realizes that Skylar is no longer alive. This is what makes this movie the best love story, because Love never dies, even if one person is gone for good or not. After Tessa comes to, realizes Skylar is gone, she starts to get signs all around her that Skylar is still there. (He is what they would call the in between) kind of like when a ghost has unfinished business, but the in between is a whole other level of what a ghost would have with in being unfinished business. Tessa realizing that Skylar is still there, but he is stuck in the in between, it gives her one last chance to see him again and confess her undying love for Skylar because she never got the chance to tell him that, as she thinks that she didn’t get that chance. Skylar comes to her, in ghost form, trying to get Tessa to realize that he really isn’t gone, and just wants to show her one last time before he had died that she did tell him that she loves him.

This is what makes a great love story. I have always been a sucker for a good (great) love story. The love between two people that is real, and epic, making this into an epic love story especially for today’s society. You hardly ever see a movie that is a romantic movie but at the same time, it shows two people that love each other with everything they have, and they make the time they spent together amazing and wonderful. Yeah it’s nothing like Romeo and Juliet, or Westside Story, or even Twilight. It’s a movie that draws you in deep, feeling that deep connection to Tessa, knowing how she feels when she loses the love of her life. And her knowing that Skylar is dead, but he is still there with her, no matter if he is there alive or dead. That’s what makes this an epic love story. How two people can fall in love and their love will never die.

As Always XOXOXOXO NicoleHeart
